  August 10, 2012 - Saint Paul – Today, Governor Mark Dayton received notification from FEMA that the agency has denied the governor’s appeal for aid for individuals and businesses as they recover from flooding in Northeastern Minnesota.

  August 09, 2012 - St. Paul— As a sign of respect for the victims of the tragic shooting in Oak Creek, Wisconsin on Sunday, August 5, 2012, Governor Mark Dayton has signed a proclamation ordering all flags at state and federal buildings in Minnesota be lowered to half-staff from sunrise until sunset on August 10, 2012.

This vacancy is occurring upon the upcoming retirement of Associate Justice Helen M. Meyer on August 10, 2012.

  July 31, 2012 - In honor and remembrance of the lives lost in the Interstate 35W bridge collapse five years ago, Governor Mark Dayton has ordered all U.S. flags and Minnesota flags to be flown at half-staff at all state and federal buildings in the State of Minnesota from sunrise until sunset on Wednesday, August 1, 2012.

  July 30, 2012 - St. Paul, MN – Today, Governor Mark Dayton announced the appointment of Colleen Thompson Michels to an Eighth Judicial District non-attorney position on the Commission on Judicial Selection. Ms. Thompson Michels will serve as one of four Eighth Judicial District members.
• Commission on Judicial Selection Announces Vacancy in Seventh Judicial District
  
  July 30, 2012 - Saint Paul, MN – The Commission on Judicial Selection announced today that a judgeship vacancy is occurring in Minnesota’s Seventh Judicial District Court. This vacancy was created upon the appointment of Judge Michael L. Kirk to the Minnesota Court of Appeals. The district court judgeship will be chambered at Moorhead in Clay County in the Seventh Judicial District.
• Lt. Governor Prettner Solon re-elected to NLGA Executive Council
  
  July 26, 2012 - Saint Paul – Lieutenant Governor Yvonne Prettner Solon has been re-elected to serve on the Executive Council of the National Lieutenant Governor’s Association. Lt. Governor Prettner Solon was re-elected unanimously to serve as the Midwest Region, Democrat-at-Large member of the association.  The NLGA held their annual convention last week in Chicago, IL.
