    July 30, 2012 - Saint Paul, MN – The Commission on Judicial Selection announced today that a judgeship vacancy is occurring in Minnesota’s Seventh Judicial District Court. This vacancy was created upon the appointment of Judge Michael L. Kirk to the Minnesota Court of Appeals. The district court judgeship will be chambered at Moorhead in Clay County in the Seventh Judicial District.
  • Lt. Governor Prettner Solon re-elected to NLGA Executive Council
    July 26, 2012 - Saint Paul – Lieutenant Governor Yvonne Prettner Solon has been re-elected to serve on the Executive Council of the National Lieutenant Governor’s Association. Lt. Governor Prettner Solon was re-elected unanimously to serve as the Midwest Region, Democrat-at-Large member of the association.  The NLGA held their annual convention last week in Chicago, IL. 
  • Governor Dayton signs bill to fight synthetic drugs
    July 26, 2012 - Saint Paul – In a ceremony today, Governor Mark Dayton signed HF 2508. The bill was originally signed into law in April 2012. The bill enhances current law in regard to the growing problem of synthetic drug production and use in Minnesota.

    July 20, 2012 - Today, Governor Mark Dayton announced the appointment of Ms. Elizabeth H. Strand as a District Court judge in Minnesota's Tenth Judicial District. Ms. Strand will replace the Honorable Donald J. Venne who will retire later this summer. This seat will be chambered in Buffalo in Wright County in Minnesota’s Tenth Judicial District.
  • Governor Dayton Honors Victims of Colorado Shooting
    July 20, 2012 - St. Paul—As a sign of respect for the victims of the tragic shooting in Aurora, Colorado on Friday, July 20, 2012, Governor Mark Dayton has signed a proclamation ordering all flags at state buildings in Minnesota be lowered to half-staff until sunset on July 21, 2012.
