With the purchase of this Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) permit, visitors have unlimited access to special events, scenic places, historic sites, a whole roster of outdoor activities Minnesota’s 75 state parks and recreation areas.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) manages the state's natural resources. Hunting, fishing, state forests and parks, lakes, rivers and streams, boating and water safety, trails, snowmobiling, skiing, education, enforcement, wildlife management, lands and minerals are managed by the DNR.


All vehicles entering a state park must display a valid Minnesota State Park vehicle permit which must be affixed to the lower right hand corner of the windshield.

Annual and day permits can be purchased at all state parks.

Funds from state park vehicle permits and fees are used to help manage park resources and facilities.


Annual Vehicle Permit - $25
Second Vehicle Permit - $18
Special Permits (designated for people with a State of Minnesota handicapped license plate) - $12
Annual Motorcycle Permit - $20
Daily permit (same rate for all vehicles) - $5
Daily group permit (10 permit minimum, 24 hour notice. Check at park office for details.) - $3
Active Military personnel - $5
