Fire Protection Managing Employee Certificate

Minnesota Department of Public Safety (DPS) - State Fire Marshal A person who is employed by a contractor, who meets the requirements for a managing employee as contained in Minn. Rules 7512.0600 to 7512.1300, and who supervises the performance of all fire protection-related work by the contractor.

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety (DPS) is responsible for the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA), Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement, Driver and Vehicle Services (DVS), Emergency Communication Networks, Homeland Security and Emergency Management, Office of Justice Programs, State Fire Marshal, Pipeline Safety, State Highway Patrol, Capitol Security and Traffic Safety.

Requirements:

Fee:

Initial - $75

Renewal - $75 if received on or before May 31. Otherwise, $125 if received on or after June 1. 

Period of Issuance:

July 1 thru June 30 of the next year.

Length of Determination Process:

Approximately four weeks.
