The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency is responsible for administering environmental permitting, compliance/enforcement, remediation and outreach programs to help Minnesota protect its environment.

Business License Application

Individual Certification Application

Requirements:

Business License: $200 annual fee per license area, minimum $10,000 SSTS surety bond plus evidence of general liability insurance, individual on staff certified in that area.

Individual Certification: Training classes completed through the U of M On-site Sewage Treatment Program (OSTP), completion of examinations, apprentice program, work as employee of licensed business with completion of 15 work products experience.

Fee:

For Business License: $200 annual fee for each licensed area ($400 maximum). Costs involved with taking classes through the U of M Onsite Sewage Treatment Program (OSTP).

Period of Issuance:

Business License is annual. Professional registration renewal every three years with evidence of 12-18 additional hours of training.

Length of Determination Process:

Business License: 60 days from receipt of completed application. Individual Certification: 60 days from receipt of completed application.
