Home Management Registration

Under Minn. Stat. § 144A.43-.47, the Minnesota Legislature authorized the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) to license most providers of home care, including private businesses, nonprofit organizations, and governmental agencies. The license is for the business, not for the employees who work for the home care provider.

Home Care Bill of Rights

Review Minn.Stat.
 § 144A.471 to see who must hold a home care license. Information about exempt and excluded providers can be found in subdivisions 8 and 9 of this statute.

Exempt providers must comply with the applicable provisions of the home care bill of rights in Minn. Stat. § 144A.44. Excluded individuals and businesses are not required to provide the home care bill of rights.

Period of Issuance:

Registration is effective for one year from effective date.

Length of Determination Process:

The Department of Health has 90 days in which to grant or deny a license.
