Cities with Delegated Authority
The Minnesota Department of Public Safety (DPS) is responsible for the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA), Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement, Driver and Vehicle Services (DVS), Emergency Communication Networks, Homeland Security and Emergency Management, Office of Justice Programs, State Fire Marshal, Pipeline Safety, State Highway Patrol, Capitol Security and Traffic Safety.

Requirements:
Permit issued by State Fire Marshal, unless authority has been delegated to local fire chief. Consult The State Fire Marshall website Fireworks section, Cities with Delegated Authority to issue permits.
Fee:
$150 plus the actual cost of inspection.
Period of Issuance:
As stated on permit.
Length of Determination Process:
Application must be filled at least 15 days prior to event.
Other Pertinent Information:
Permits are not issued to private parties. State certified public display fireworks operator must supervise the display.
