The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency is responsible for administering environmental permitting, compliance/enforcement, remediation and outreach programs to help Minnesota protect its environment.

Requirements:

Must submit engineering design plans.

Obtain local approvals.

Fee:

No Fees

Period of Issuance:

Up to 5 years; permit may then be reissued.

Length of Determination Process:

30 days to determine if complete. Up to 180 days or more to determine adequacy of completed application.

Other Pertinent Information:

Applies to solid waste compost only. Yard waste compost sites are considered permit by rule.
