Economic Supports

The Minnesota Department of Human Services offers economic support for qualifying individuals to assist them as they go to work, look for work, attend school or are unable to work.

  • Food and nutrition assistance

    The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) helps eligible Minnesotans get the food they need for sound nutrition and well-balanced meals.

  • General Assistance

    This program is a primary safety net for adults who are unable to work.

  • Housing

    DHS works to ensure that appropriate housing is available for people by integrating housing, services and income supports to enable adults to live in their communities.

  • Minnesota Supplemental Aid

    MSA provides monthly support to people who are elderly, blind or have a disability and who receive federal Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits.
