The Fourth Annual Celebrate Foster Families event at the Minnesota United soccer match was held May 18 at the Metrodome in Minneapolis. Children raced up and down the field at a soccer clinic, fans cheered on a Ramsey County foster and adoptive family, families mingled while eating a donated lunch and people stopped by an information table to learn more about foster care.

DHS and five counties — Anoka, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey and Scott — partnered with the professional soccer team and the Sanneh Foundation, which provides life skills programs for at-risk children using soccer as the catalyst to empower kids, improve lives and unite communities, to host the event for hundreds of foster families.

More information is available in a foster care fact sheet (PDF).
