Online training aimed at understanding hearing and vision loss

Online training is now available for people interested in learning about the unique challenges experienced by people who have combined hearing and vision loss. The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services Division is now offering “DeafBlind101: An Introduction to Combined Hearing and Vision Loss” on the deaf and hard of hearing services page on the DHS website by clicking the deafblind button on the homepage.

“DeafBlind101: An Introduction to Combined Hearing and Vision Loss” will allow people to:

  • Gain and understanding of the unique challenges that people with combines hearing and vision loss experience.
  • Discover how combine hearing and vision loss impacts everyday activities.
  • Learn about the range of assistive technology and specialized supports available to people with combined hearing and vision loss.
  • Become familiar with appropriate supports for people with combined hearing and vision loss.
  • Learn how to help people with combined hearing and vision loss maintain and improve their independence.
  • Learn where you can go for more information.
