DHS employee Ruthie Dallas, who works in the department's Community Supports Administration, recently received the 2016 Achieving Dreams Award from RESOURCE at their annual celebration and awards ceremony in March. Dallas was one of three recipients honored for her lifelong work in supporting pregnant and parenting women affected by addictions and trauma.
Dallas is a long-term DHS employees, specializing in women services and trauma informed care at the department. Dallas is the project director of the DHS Trauma Informed Care Learning Community and the Women Services lead planner for the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division.
She also serves as Minnesota’s designated Women Services Coordinator for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration/Center for Substance Abuse Treatment designated, and is a member of the National Association of State Alcohol/Drug Abuse Directors (NASADAD) Women Services Network (WSN).
Resource is an organization with 35 sites that serves nearly 20,000 individuals and families each year with employment services, career education, and chemical and mental health services.
