If you’re interested in learning about or landing a job in the construction and trades field, come to the 2014 Construction/Trades Career & Job Fair on Wednesday, March 26 in Rochester, Minn. More than 30 businesses and organizations will talk to people looking for work about job openings, apprenticeships, career pathways and programs to become certified. Employers wish to hire workers for jobs in Rochester and southeastern Minnesota.
“The construction field is booming in this region, so now is a great time to explore these types of jobs,” said Mike Haney, WorkForce Center operations manager at the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED). “This event is a great way for workers to connect with employers and high school and college students to find out about construction and trades, since they can meet with employers and other groups at one place.”
Participating companies are seeking candidates for both field and office positions, entry-level and higher. A wide range of job openings are available – everything from electrician to painter to marketing coordinator and receptionist.
Jen Hauzer, an event organizer, advises job seekers to bring an updated resume and be ready to interview with employers on the spot.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the Rochester Community and Technical College – Heintz Center, 1926 Collegeview Rd. E.
This career fair is free and open to everyone. No sign-up is required.
