State grant funded small business development organizations

The following is a list of organizations that receive state funding through DEED to provide technical assistance to Minnesota based small businesses and entrepreneurs.

Asian Economic Development Association This group seeks to expand opportunities for economic success for low-income Asian Americans in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Twin Cities
BuildWealth MN, Inc. This group works to strengthen underserved communities by empowering families to build sustainable social and economic wealth
Latino Economic Development Center This group seeks to establish, stabilize, and expand businesses through orientations, classes, development consulting, technical assistance, and access to capital for new, and existing entrepreneurs.
Metropolitan Consortium of Community Developers The consortium is an association of community development groups that focus on housing and economic development initiatives.
Metropolitan Economic Development Association The group provides assistance to businesses owned and managed by entrepreneurs of color.
Neighborhood Development Center The center offers small-business training and consultation in low-income neighborhoods.
Northside Economic Opportunity Network The goal of this group is to expand economic opportunities and build wealth for north Minneapolis residents through the creation, growth and development of small businesses.
University of St. Thomas Small Business Development Center The center provides programs and services for small businesses and entrepreneurs in the Twin Cities area.
WomenVenture WomenVenture helps women entrepreneurs, low-income entrepreneurs and women-owned businesses to develop and expand businesses and create jobs.
Northeast Minnesota Entrepreneur Fund The group helps people in Northeast Minnesota start and grow successful, locally owned small businesses.
U of M Center for Economic Development (SBDC) The center provides programs and services for small businesses and entrepreneurs in the Northeast Minnesota area.

Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation The group is a community foundation that Invent in businesses and provide business lending.
South East Minnesota South East Minnesota Small Business Development Center The center provides programs and services for small businesses and entrepreneurs in the Rochester Area.
Northwest Minnesota Red Lake Band of the Chippewa Indians Entrepreneur Development Program This group will assist individual entrepreneur to establish and grow new business in the Red Lake Nation.
