The division's NVLAP accredited metrology laboratory offers the highest levels of precision measurement and calibration services available in the nation, providing clients a certificate of traceability to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for all calibrations performed. The laboratory meets all ISO, FDA, NRC, FAA and ANSI/NCSL Z540-I requirements. The laboratory also offers an automatic recall system for all equipment based on a specified calibration interval.
By using a submerged electronic balance, the Laboratory can determine the density of one-piece mass standards. This is accomplished by comparing the density of the unknown with that of a known laboratory standards in a series of measurements. The laboratory can also verify the accuracy of pycnometers.
Fees: $140 per hour.
