The division's NVLAP accredited metrology laboratory offers the highest levels of precision measurement and calibration services available in the nation, providing clients a certificate of traceability to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for all calibrations performed. The laboratory meets all ISO, FDA, NRC, FAA and ANSI/NCSL Z540-I requirements. The laboratory also offers an automatic recall system for all equipment based on a specified calibration interval.

The laboratory calibrates weights from 1 mg to 5000 lbs. using computer-interfaced balances and mass comparators to ASTM, NIST and OIML Classes. The laboratory can calibrate any type of weights from brass working class to highly polished stainless steel precision weights. All measurements are performed in a state-of-the-art environmentally controlled laboratory on the finest equipment available. All measurements include a NIST traceable, NVLAP accredited test report.

Because the influx of a magnetic field can disrupt the true mass of a weight, the Laboratory will also test precision stainless steel weights for magnetic flux density.
