What We Do: Telecom


We represent consumer interests in all aspects of the regulatory process to ensure that reliable telecommunications services are provided to all at reasonable rates.

• Provide consumer oriented information to help users get the most from their phone service

• Provide lists of long distance and local telephone companies serving Minnesota

• Provide information about low-income phone discount programs

• Investigate telecommunications issues

• Enforce regulations

• Provide decision makers with information and policy alternatives which reflect changing market conditions

• Support availability of telecommunications services at fair and reasonable rates, terms and conditions throughout the state

• Represent the broad public interest for telecommunications issues at the Public Utilities Commission

• Administer the Telecommunications Access Minnesota program

• Promote expansion of Broadband
