Commissioner Rothman to speak, read to students at Shakopee University of Minnesota Extension event recognizing America Saves Week

SAINT PAUL, MN – Minnesota Department of Commerce Commissioner Mike Rothman will read “Less Than Zero,” by Stuart Murphy to 4-H students in grades K-5 at Shakopee Sweeney Elementary on Wednesday, February 27th from 3:50 to 4:30 PM. He will join the University of Minnesota – Extension to commemorate America Saves, a nationwide partnership dedicated to helping individuals save money, reduce debt, and build wealth.

Commissioner Rothman has made financial literacy a top priority of his work as Commerce Commissioner, particularly in educating school-age children of the importance of saving.  Knowledge is often the foundation of financially secure communities and education starts early.  Commissioner Rothman will discuss the concepts of earning, spending, and borrowing money introduced in the book.
