The Energy Information Center, operated by the Minnesota Department of Commerce, provides one-on-one assistance, education, and outreach to Minnesota consumers. Housed in the Division of Energy Resources, Energy Information Center staff are available to answer a wide range of energy-related questions. Staff are available to help Minnesota businesses and consumers make informed decisions about energy efficiency, energy-related products, and energy conservation.
In addition to responding to questions and concerns via email and phone, the Energy Information Center creates and distributes printed materials to guide citizens who are seeking improvements and solutions to their energy concerns. Consumer guides, fact sheets, success stories, reports, and links to helpful sources are available in the left side bar of this page.
The Energy Information Center also oversees the Division of Energy Resources website, offering the latest news and features on energy programs and energy-related topics. Our website is a central source of information for Minnesota programs that save energy, including programs that provide energy assistance and weatherization services to low-income households, as well as programs that assist utilities and their customers in achieving energy conservation goals.
The Energy Information Center connects with thousands of Minnesotans each year through its participation in events such as the Eco Experience at the Minnesota State Fair. Our knowledgeable staff educate the public through presentations at numerous community events. Minnesota consumers are encouraged to stay up to date on news, grants, and other energy-related opportunities via our regular email newsletters.
