Deadlines extended to May 31 for REAP renewable energy, EE funding

Funding from the Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) for 2013 is available to Minnesota farmers, ranchers and rural small businesses for the development and construction of renewable energy systems and energy efficiency improvement projects. REAP is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The application deadlines were recently extended one month to May 31, 2013 for the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Improvement (REEI) Grant and Combination Guaranteed Loan and Grant Programs, as well as for Renewable Energy System Feasibility Study grants. Deadline for REEI Guaranteed Loans only is July 15, 2013. A total of $60 million is available nationwide for REAP during fiscal year 2013. The funding announcement is posted at the Federal Register, but it does not reflect the new extended deadlines.
