Did you know that 1 out of every 20 Minnesotans has more than $100 in unclaimed property waiting for them? Unclaimed paychecks, life insurance policies, stocks, and more are turned over to the State of Minnesota for safekeeping until it is claimed by the rightful owner.

At the click of a mouse, you can search for your name or the names of your family and friends to see if the State of Minnesota is currently holding your unclaimed property. Just visit www.missingmoney.com or use the search function below.

Minnesota lists its owner names on the www.missingmoney.com website and that is where you should begin your search and claim processes for unclaimed property.

Consumers need to know that the Commerce Department Unclaimed Property Program does not contact individuals to request personal information or payment to claim missing property.  If you did not initiate a conversation, you should never provide personal information, including Social Security Numbers or account numbers over the telephone or internet.
