To kick off Financial Literacy Month in Minnesota, Commerce Commissioner Mike Rothman (left) and Education Commissioner Brenda Cassellius (right) teamed up on April 2 with students like BizTown Mayor Thor Reimann (center) to learn about the importance of teaching financial education starting at a young age. The commissioners visited Junior Achievements BizTown in Maplewood.
The financial literacy essay contest for Minnesota kids in grades 3-5, called Hit a Homerun for Financial Literacy Month, is sponsored by Governor Mark Dayton, the Minnesota Department of Commerce, and the Minnesota Twins. Contest responses are due by April 30, 2013.
