Spaulding, M.D., MPH, of South Haven replaces Rebecca J. Hafner-Fogarty, M.D., M.B.A., as a physician member of the Board.  Board Term June 6, 2016 through January 6, 2020.  Patrick R. The Boards of Medical Practice, Nursing and Pharmacy collaboratively developed and adopted a Joint Statement on the Impact of Health Conditions and Medication Use on the Operation of Vehicles. The Joint Statement is meant to offer guidance to pharmacists and licensed healthcare providers who are authorized to prescribe medications.

Governor Dayton's Appointment of MN Interstate Medical Licensure Compact Commission
October 23, 2015, Governor Mark Dayton appointed Jon Thomas, M.D., the current Board member, and Ruth Martinez, M.A., the Executive Director of the Board, as Commissioners to represent Minnesota on the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact Commission.

New COMPAT License Regulation

New Compact License Regulation

Minnesota’s Legislature unanimously passed the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact; it was signed by the governor in May 2015. It is an expedited licensure process for eligible physicians that improves license portability and increases patient access to care.
