Registrations

 

 Basic Barber Shop Registration Information:

  • Barber Shops must be registered.
  • Barber Shop registrations expire June 30 annually.
  • Failure to renew on or before June 30 each year will result in additional renewal fees.
  • Pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 154.162 Administrative Penalties: The board shall impose and collect penalties for missing or lapsed shop registration, unregistered apprentice or unregistered barbers found upon inspection.

  • All barber shops must have a registered (master) barber in the shop during hours of operation.

  • Barber shop renewal forms are mailed during the month of May.


Basic Barber Registration Information

  • All barbers must work in a registered barber shop. It is the barbers responsibility to assure that the shop is registered.

  • Barber registrations expire December 31 annually. The Board makes an effort to send renewal notice to each barber, however; it is the barbers responsibility to renew their registration in a timely manner.

  • Failure to renew on or before December 31 each year will result in additional renewal fees.

  • Pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 154.162 Administrative Penalties: The board shall impose and collect penalties for missing or lapsed shop registration, unregistered apprentice or unregistered barbers found upon inspection.

  • Pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 154.15 subd. 2: A registered barber or a registered apprentice who has not renewed a certificate of registration may be reinstated within four years of such failure to renew without examination upon the payment of the required restoration fee for each year the certificate is lapsed.

  • Barber renewal forms are mailed during the month of November

 
PLEASE NOTE: The Board mails renewal notices to registered Barbers and Barber Shops each year, however; it is the responsibility of the barber and barber shop owner to renew their registration on time.
