My payment isn't being accepted by US Bank or it times out. There are a few different scenarios:
- Make sure that the 3-digit security code on the back of your credit card is entered and is correct. Your payment will not go through if the code does not match up with the card number during the verification.
- If you are paying with a company credit card, make sure the billing address is the company's address - NOT your personal address.
- Some company credit cards have restrictions on online payments. The issuing bank may need to lift the restrictions.
I want to retire. Send a request, in writing, to the Board office and we will update your record to "retired." You may continue to use your professional title preceeded by the term "retired" (i.e. John Doe, Retired Architect), but you do not have a current license and cannot practice. In order to reinstate, you will need to complete the continuing education requirements and pay back fees to the time of lapse in your license.
I am renewing late and did not get all my continuing education prior to June 30, 2012. If you do not have enough hours obtained prior to June 30, 2012, you may use continuing education that you have obtained after June 30, 2012 to renew your license for the 2012-2014 renewal period. Just add the hours to the hours you earned prior to July 1, 2012 to ensure you have a total of 24 PDH to renew. Any hours obtained after June 30, 2012 that are used toward the 2012-2014 renewal, MAY NOT be used to renew your license in 2014. You will need to obtain an additional 24 PDH between July 1, 2012 and June 30, 2014 to renew your license in 2014.
I want to go inactive. The Board does not have an inactive status. To let your license expire, simply do not renew. If you do not want to receive a "second notice" for renewal, contact the Board office and let the staff know that you are intentionally not renewing.
When I log in, it says "Person match not found." Make sure you have entered your complete license or certificate number AND the last four digits of your social security number. If you still get the message, contact the Board office for assistance.
When I log in to renew, the screen comes up blank. If you are renewing at work, log out of your company intranet and try again. Also, some companies block any online payment transactions. Contact your IT help desk to determine if payment sites are blocked.
I am trying to open a .pdf file and it won't open. Right click on the link and click "Save Target As" or "Save As" and save it to your computer. Then open the saved file from wherever you saved it on your computer.
I click on the "View Online Renewal Report" button, but it comes up blank. If you are using a Macintosh computer, we have found that the renewal report comes up blank. We are working on this issue.
What if I don't have enough continuing education? You cannot renew your license until you have the minimum of 24 professional development hours completed (including any carryover from the previous renewal). Once you have completed your hours, you may reinstate your license. You will be required to pay a late fee if you reinstate after June 30. Your license will expire on June 30 if you do not have enough professional development hours. There is no grace period.
I am requesting an exemption from the continuing education requirements. How do I renew? Your exemption request must be approved by the Board before you can renew. Your request will be reviewed at the Board meeting following receipt of your request. If the next Board meeting doesn't take place until after June 30, your license will expire and you will need to reinstate after the Board makes its decision on your exemption.
I get a message that says "Renewal in Progress," but I haven't renewed. If you log in and go through several of the renewal screens then back out of the system before completing the renewal, the system will lock you out for two hours. Wait and try again in two hours.
My transaction timed out and now I can't get back in. The system will clear itself every couple of hours. Wait for two hours, then try to log in again.
When I log in I get a message that says that my license has already been renewed, but I haven't renewed. If you are using the same computer to renew that you did when you renewed in 2010, it is possible that the cookies have not been cleared. Try clearing the cookies for the Board's website, or try renewing from a different computer and you should be able to log in.
My carryover only shows 12, I should have more, why? The maximum carryover allowed from one biennium to the next is 12 PDH. Regardless of how many hours you have entered, the maximum that will apply is 12.
Why am I being charged a convenience fee? The Board is charged by the bank for each transaction made by credit card. This fee is passed on to users.
My name has changed. You will need to send a copy of your legal name change to the Board office to have your record updated.
