Apply for Appraisal Management Company License


An Appraisal Management Company license term is one year, expiring on August 31. Download the application form.

The following must be submitted for an Appraisal Management Company license:

  1. Completed license application form above, including the Affidavit of Designated Controlling Person form, the Affidavit of Official Signing Application form, the Uniform Consent to Service of Process and acknowledgement form (non-residents only), and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) form.

  2. License fee in the form of a check (only) for $5,150 made payable to "Minnesota Department of Commerce." In accordance with Minn. Stat. §16E.22, this fee includes a $150 OET surcharge, which is being collected on behalf of the Minnesota Office of Enterprise Technology to fund a statewide electronic licensing system.

  3. A copy of the Certificate of Incorporation from the Minnesota Secretary of State. If incorporated in another jurisdiction, a copy of the "Certificate of Foreign Corporation" from the Minnesota Secretary of State (651-296-2803).

  4. If other than a corporation, a copy of the Articles of Organization from the Minnesota Secretary of State (651-296-2803).

  5. If applicant is a partnership, a partnership agreement.

  6. If operating under any name other than the exact corporate or partnership name, a copy of the "Assumed Name Certificate" issued by the Minnesota Secretary of State. (The name under which the business will be conducted must be exactly the same as the name under which the license will be issued.) 

  7. Certificate of good standing from the state of domicile.

  8. If applicant has Minnesota employees, evidence of current workers' compensation coverage.
